How it works

The bissell 1940 powerfresh allows you to deep clean your floors with the power of steam. The steam is directly headed toward the floor, cleaning the dirt and other stains before being absorbed by the steam mop microfiber head.

You just have to fill the water tank with distilled/filtered water and plug in the mop, it couldn't be easier​. Once you start moping, expect the water tank to last about 20 min on the normal steam power. The result is simple : a clean, fresh and bacteria-free floor.

It features an integrated and easy to use scrubber and is shipped with scent discs you can integrate in the microfiber pads in order to spread a fragrance scent as you mop.​ Of course, you can choose to clean your floors without the use of the discs, it's just here to add a fresh scent to your home.

How to use

This steam mop is really easy to operate thanks to a well designed structure. The water tank situated on the top is removable and can be quickly refilled in less than 30 seconds.

The warming process is really quick as well ! As soon as you plug the water tank, a led starts blinking and when it stops, you are good to go. Where on most steam mops you have to wait at least a few minutes before being able to clean, here it takes 30 seconds and you can mop for 20 min.

You can control the steam strength thanks to an easy to access panel situated on the front of the mop. You can choose from 3 different outputs : low, medium and high. I would recommend going with the high output only on the toughest stains as it drains more water and tends to saturate the microfiber quickly. The low steam output mode is a perfect fit for hardwood floors that are more sensitive to heat and humidity.

On though spots, the scrubber is really handy. You just have to push the grey trigger on the mopping head for the brush to be engaged.

As always when it comes to steam moping your floor, it is strongly advised to properly vacuum clean before moping. The result will be far better and mopping a floor full of dirt is useless.

What's in the box ?

The Bissell 1940 Powerfresh is shipped in a easy to open box containing everything needed to assemble (the assembling is easily done in less than 3 min​) and operate the mop.

The mop is shipped with 2 cleaning pads. One is a normal microfiber pad you can use everyday and the other is designed to be used for heavier duty cleaning as it has a more abrasive weave. Both pad have a little pocket where you can insert fragrance discs. Two "spring breeze" fragrance discs are included.
